Letty Limbach
Letty has been a student of movement for most of her life. She was lucky to be born into a family that loved and encouraged dance and other forms of creativity—mom and dad, a shout out to you! Her first forays into dance took the form of contra dancing with her parents, basically from the time she could take her first steps. For those of you who aren’t familiar with contra dance, think square dancing mixed with Jane Austen-esque partner dancing—you know, when they line up in two lines and trade witty barbs while circling each other like panthers…Yeah, it’s like that (though mostly without the witty barbs and panthers).
Letty’s training in movement continued with gymnastics until she discovered the traditional Western forms of dance when she was 12. From there she trained in ballet, jazz, and modern until she was 21. Somewhere in there she also discovered a deep love of clogging, which she trained in for about three years. In 2005, Letty took her first bellydance class and it didn’t take long for her deep love of clogging to be joined by an even deeper love of bellydance. After a couple years dancing cabaret, she took a workshop with Moria Chappell of BDSS and discovered fusion bellydance. Since then she has immersed herself as much as possible in the art form, attending regular classes, working on her own (and with SK of course!) and taking any workshops she can. Thus far she’s had the honor/pleasure of taking workshops from Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, Rachel Brice, Elizabeth Strong, Moria Chappell, Ariellah, and Rose Harden.
In 2008, Letty moved from her college town in Montana to Seattle and soon after, met Sarah Kate via tribe.net-shout out to tribe! She and Sarah Kate discovered they would do for each other quite nicely, thankyouverymuch and have been working together ever since. In 2009, CopperClock was born and the rest is history?
Sarah Kate Moore
Sarah Kate began studying belly dance in 2005. Since then, she has diligently worked to develop and refine her signature brand of impish, precise and energetic fusion dance. She is continually inspired by the regal carriage and meticulous coordination of various forms of group improvisation/ITS, the grace and dynamism of Argentine tango, and the technical virtuosity of the living legends of solo fusion belly dance.
